A Short Story About Best-Friend

                           The Best-Friend

Once upon a time, a small girl lived with her grandparents. Her name was Anjali, but her grandparents called her Anju. Her grandfather was a farmer and has 5 acres of land. She did not have any friends with whom she can play. One day, her grandfather decided to give her a little friend with whom she can spend time. Then, grandfather took her to the backyard of the house. He said, “I Know you do not have any friend but today you can make a new by planting this plant.” She replied, “Yes, why not if I plant this then this will become my friend right?” He said, “Yes it will.”

That time onwards, she accepted that plant as her friend. She daily use to visit backyard to wish it Good Morning by giving it water. Then use to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner with it. Only in few days she got to use to it. She used to share a lot of things with it. It became her daily routine.

Every birthday she used to celebrate with that tree. It was her 12th Birthday, as usual she decorated the tree with lots of balloons and colourful lights. Before cutting the cake, she used to wish that “Oh God, please complete my wish that is my tree which is my best friend never leaves me and I promise that I will never leave it alone.” and then use to cut the cake.

But I guess God has decided something else.

After five years, she completed her education and applied for a job. After few days, she got selected for a job but the problem was that for that job she needed to go abroad. This was not possible because she promised her best friend that she will not leave it alone. But then her grandparents, explained her that do not worry we will take care of your friend until you get back to India.

Her job which she dreamed about was working in Go-Green Organization. She loved nature so much that it was like her own world. To not feel lonely while working she always kept a picture of her and that tree. In her dreams also that tree use to come. After 3 months she had her vacations and she returned to her house in that small village.

First time she did not believe it was her village. But then, she got to known that some of high authorities gave instructions to convert this small village into a city.

After hearing this, she ran towards her house and her grandparents told that how the cruel the man was. He did not even care about the small living things. I am sorry I broke your promise of taking care of the tree. She was dishearten and decided to complain about this. But she did not have any power against such big man. Nothing was in her control anymore.

Unfortunately, she had to return to London. There she told about the thing happened in her village and all about that tree. The president of this organisation decided to help her. He sent a notice from organisation to that man. The letter was as following –

-------------------------,

Mr---------------,

Dear Mr. ---------,

I am writing this letter from Go-Green Organisation to complain about the thing you have done with the village. You have no right to construct buildings and cut the trees of it without the permission of the people living. Indirectly or directly, intentionally, or non-intentionally you are hurting someone’s feeling. So, I the President of Go-Green organisation warn you that if you do such thing again you will be sent to jail.

After sending this letter, he went to village and said sorry for the mistake he had done.

Anju was very happy that she got justice against her best friend.

Moral – Friendship is relation between two people which cannot be broken by anyone.
