 Celebrations

The festival is celebrated annually in September, after the monsoon season, in the area of Mehrauli. The festival includes a procession of flower sellers, led by shehnai players and dancers, carrying large floral fans, or pankhas, to the Yogmaya Temple and the dargah of Khwaja Bakhtiyar Kaki. The festival also includes a fair with amusement rides, crafts, and artisans.

Significance

The festival is an example of Delhi's composite culture and a celebration of communal harmony between Hindus and Muslims.
